Denny Marion is chief executive officer of Quad-City Area Labor-Management Council (QCALM). He is the former president of Marion & Associates, Moline, Illinois. Prior to operating his own consulting firm, he was a Senior Internal Consultant for John Deere Harvester Works, East Moline, Illinois. During his years with the company he worked as a production welder and union official; administrator, Employee Participation and union representative; employee relations, senior consultant, organizational development and TEAM leader of Internal Consultant Team. Denny was a member of Quad City Vision Group - Labor/Management TEAM. He developed and produced "Quad City Vision" video and Quad City Vision. He is a past president and Board Member of ILLOWA Chapter of AQP (Association for Quality and Participation). Denny has conducted educational sessions, presentations and consulted for numerous organizations throughout the area. Some of those organizations include: United Way of the Quad Cities, Illinois Joint Council for Pupil Transportation, International Conference of the Institute of Industrial Engineers, Scott County Health Department and Montgomery Elevator. Denny's educational background includes Black Hawk College, NTL Institute Human Interaction Laboratory, Des Moines Area Community College, plus a number of certifications in various disciplines associated with his consulting work.
Sharon De Frieze, director of special projects and former chief executive officer of Quad-City Area Labor-Management Council (QCALM). She was also instrumental in founding QCALM in 1986. Sharon has over 20 years of experience as a counselor, facilitator, trainer and consultant. She is a certified facilitator of Gordon Graham & Company's change management training program; licensed to provide Conflict Management Inc.'s, Conflict Resolution and Collaborative Negotiations training; and a certified facilitator of the U.S. Department of Labor's Committee Effectiveness Team Building training program. She is Vice President to the International Center for the Collaborative Workplace (ICCW) since 2002 and is treasurer of the Bi-State Literacy Council. Before forming QCALM, Sharon was employed by the National AFL-CIO for nine years. She received her education from Black Hawk College, Moline, Illinois, and St. Ambrose University, Davenport, Iowa. Publications include: Vision of the Future, an employee involvement guidebook and Taking Charge of Your Future: Keys to Open Doors, a manual on job search skills.
Sue Gerard has been an accountant for QCALM since 1989. Prior to joining QCALM, Sue worked for over 17 years in accounting at Tri-City Blue Print Company and Fuller Printing Company in Moline, Illinois. She edits The Vision as well as all documents and all written materials for QCALM. Sue does all the accounting for Bi-State Literacy Council and processes payroll and taxes for AFSCME Local 1132. She has taken numerous computer skill-training classes and holds an Associates Degree in accounting from Black Hawk College, Moline, Illinois. Sue is presently working toward a B.S. degree.
